  • Everything is about the same with this tank.  I changed the water yesterday and now I can see my fish again; the bogwood is STILL leaking lots of tannins so the water was a very dark orange.  I just wanted to add a couple of pictures I took last night that I particularly liked.
  • The first one is Jacque looking at the camera, then Simone and Jacque together, Pierre hiding as usual, and cory buts with a little tetra zooming by.

  • This week, I traded out the gravel substrate for play sand so that my cories can enjoy playing.  I actually transferred it on Monday, but I wasn't able to add anything other than the fish and a couple of rocks for cover until Wednesday as the sand was really cloudy.  Wednesday I finally redecorated and arranged the rocks, bogwood, and plants.  It's still a little cloudy but it's much better and the rest of the silty, cloudiness should filter out over the next couple of weeks.
  • Today, I tested the water parameters as I expected a slight mini-cycle from the substrate change and huge water changes required.  Also, I invested in a submersible mini-pump for water changes this week, it worked great! 
 

       The above picture is on Monday afternoon right after I added the fish back into the tank.

      This one was taken today, Thursday with the new scape and much easier to see all the fish.

       Here's Pierre's new favorite hiding place, upside down in the bogwood crevice.
